Last Thursday, we were inspired by Darlene Serrano from West Side Infant and Teen Parent Program, who gave us a presentation on how the program provides a caring solution for teen parents and improve the quality of their family life. Early childbearing produces adverse social and economic consequences for the mother, the infant, and the community as a whole. The Paramus Rotary Club wholeheartedly participated at the July 4th parade in Paramus with a Rotary float, and entertain hundreds if not thousands kids and families with the Rotary train rides at the Independence Day block party held at the Garden State Plaza.

President Bernie Wilker’s announced at his first Rotary meeting under his presidency last Thursday that he decided to suspend prayer before the meeting for the year and invited anyone who would like to know his rationale for doing so to talk with him.

It was a roundtable meeting, but we also had three new members inducted. Let us welcome Sheila Criscione, Arun Joshi, and Arthur Pasternak to the Service Above Self.
