Paramus Rotarians remember Tommy Kourgelis.

At this past Thursday’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Paramus the membership turned out to host the members of the Tommy Kourgelis family.

The meeting’s agenda was expanded to celebrate the life of Thomas “Tommy” Kourgelis who passed away peacefully this past April at age 83.

Tommy was the patriarch of the Kourgelis family and founder/owner of venues well known to District 7490 Rotarian - Seasons Catering, The Venetian, and Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury.

The relationship between the Paramus Rotary Club and the Kourgelis family started some 30 years ago and Seasons Catering has been our Rotary Club’s “home base” every since.

Born in Greece, Tommy immigrated to the USA in 1958. Through his tough work ethic and dedication to his career in the restaurant industry, he created the longstanding legacy that exists today.

In his memory members of the Paramus Rotary Club donated and dedicated 3 benches that are now in place on the grounds of Seasons Catering so staff and visitors can sit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful surrounding at Seasons.

It also reminds so many of the Paramus Rotary Club members of the many times Tommy sat in front of the entrance to greet and talk to so many of us upon our arrival.
